  4. Welcome to Gold Monkey by Gold Software.

  6. Gold Monkey is a great, addictive strategy game.
  7.  
  8. It is a shareware product, which means you should pass this game around
  9. to ALL your friends who own or use Windows. If you like the game, you must

  16. USING GOLD MONKEY
  17.  
  18. If the only file you have is gmonkey.zip, then you need to do 'PKunzip gmonkey'
  19. after copying the .zip file to your hard disk. Then follow the instructions 
  20. below.

  22. To Install the program:
  23.  
  24.   1. You must be running MS-Windows 3.0 or higher.
  25.  
  26.   2. Mouse click the Program Manager 'File' menu option.
  27.  
  28.   3. Mouse click the 'Run' option, then type a:setup or b:setup depending
  29.      on which disk drive the install disk is in.
  30.  
  31.   4. Follow the instructions in the setup program.
  32.  
  33. To Run the program:
  34.  
  35.   1. Double click on the Gold Monkey icon in the Games group of Program 
  36.      Manager.
  37.  
  38.   2. The object of the game is to fill the screen with bananas. 
  39.      You click on any number next to the green banana, and that many 
  40.      spaces will turn into a banana. Remember to always click by the 
  41.      GREEN banana.
  42.     
  43.   3. If you cross another banana, hit a red spider, or hit the edge, 
  44.      you will lose. The game will restart , giving you another chance 
  45.      at victory (that is, a higher score).
  46.     
  47.   4. See the top 5 high scores by mouse-clicking the 'Help' menu option 
  48.      and mouse-clicking 'Top Bananas'.

  50. Known problems
  51.   1. You must have a Games group in your Program Manager window, or 
  52.      the setup program will not place Gold Monkey in a Program Manager 
  53.      group.
  54.     
  55.   2. Gold Monkey will not work correctly on systems with graphics cards 
  56.      that support 32,000 colors.
